Matthew Blew
Inventor, marine designer and watersports instructor
Matthew Blew is the inventor of the Gigawave Surf System and owner of GigaWave LLC, holder of U.S. Patent 11,352,117 B1. Gigawave is one of the marine projects developed through Marine Hatch Labs.
Matthew is also a watersports and kiteboarding instructor, so he designs for the rider as much as for the boat.
Matthew is a seasoned marine designer and engineer with over 15 years of experience, renowned for crafting best-selling models that redefine performance and standards in marine design. With a strong personal interest in emerging technologies, he consistently stays ahead of the curve, leveraging new tools, materials, and digital workflows to push innovation and elevate product capability.
He guides complex projects from preliminary concepts through prototype development and full production integration, through a structured, iterative design process that balances aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, and cost.
